Sustainability Early Careers Board (ECB) – members

Application closing date: 31 October 2025

Are you a student or early career actuary with a strong interest in sustainability? Would you like to help shape the profession’s response to environmental and societal challenges?

We are inviting applications to join the Sustainability Early Careers Board (ECB), a dynamic group that brings fresh perspectives to the IFoA’s Sustainability Board* and wider actuarial community.

What’s involved?

As a member of the ECB, you will:

  • Support a wide range of projects and initiatives led by the Sustainability Board, often working directly with members of the board
  • Share insights from your network and stay informed on what’s topical in your domain
  • Help ensure the next generation of actuaries is equipped to address sustainability risks.

This is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills, work with and shadow senior actuaries, expand your network, and make a meaningful impact.

We welcome applications from all early career members with an interest in sustainability, and we are committed to diversity of background, experience, and thought.

*The IFoA Sustainability Board is a member-led board of volunteer actuaries. It advises the IFoA on important sustainability issues and is a source of expertise within the profession on matters relating to the sustainability practice area.

Time commitment

Members are expected to attend a one hour, online ECB meeting every alternate month. In addition, you would engage with tasks and provide updates in between meetings as required.

Time commitment in total is expected to be about 2 to 4 hours a month.
