Designated Professional Body Board – actuary volunteer

Application closing date: 2 November

An opportunity to join the Designated Professional Body (DPB) Board of the IFoA has arisen.

If you are a Fellow or Associate of the IFoA and work in a DPB licensed or FCA authorised firm, you may be interested in joining the board tasked with responsibility for overseeing the operation of the DPB regime.

Background

The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, which governs all financial services in the UK, allows some professional organisations to act as designated professional bodies or DPBs. Under this regime, those licensed by a DPB may carry out a limited range of regulated activities, without having to obtain direct authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority under the terms of a DPB License.

The DPB Board is charged with responsibility for acting on behalf of Council to meet the IFoA’s responsibilities as a DPB under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

We are seeking one actuary member to join the board.
