New Delhi Flooding – IFoA Exam Centre Update

5 September 2025

We are closely monitoring the severe flooding currently affecting North India. We are working in collaboration with our exam centre providers to assess the situation and ensure the safety and continuity of exam delivery.

Contingency planning for exam centre closures

Should an exam centre be required to close due to flooding, affected candidates will be offered the opportunity to sit their exam via Remote Invigilation (RI).

You will be notified of any exam centre closure as soon as possible. If notification is received before 12:30 IST, we can confirm that your exam will be available via Remote Invigilation.

To ensure you are informed of any changes as quickly as possible, closure notifications may be sent to you by either the IFoA or by the British Council.

Preparing for Remote Invigilation if needed

If your exam centre is closed, or you are unable to travel due to flooding, and would like to take your exam via remote invigilation, please be aware that the following preparations must be in place:

to a device that meets the minimum technical requirements outlined in the Examination Handbook.

Test your equipment using the “” feature to ensure readiness.

Review the Examination Handbook thoroughly to understand the Remote Invigilation process.

Launching your exam

Given the last-minute nature of these changes, please note that when launching the exam platform both the ‘Centre’ and ‘RI’ exam options will appear.

For example:

CB – CB1 – 10 September 2025 – Centre 09:00
CB – CB1 – 10 September 2025 – RI 09:00

It is important that you launch the Remote Invigilation (RI) exam. You will not be able to connect to ProctorU if you select the ‘Centre’ exam option.

Unable to attend due to localised flooding

If your exam centre remains open but you are unable to attend due to transport disruption or localised flooding, please contact us no later than 12:30 IST on the day of your exam:

Email: exams@actuaries.org.uk
Phone: +44 (0)1865 268 873

We will make every effort to transfer your exam to Remote Invigilation before the scheduled start time. If this is not possible, unfortunately, you will be unable to sit your exam at the scheduled time. In such cases, we will contact you as soon as possible to advise on next steps.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. Your safety and exam experience remain our highest priority.
