The IFoA has opened a consultation on proposed minor amendments to Actuarial Professional Standard (APS) X2 and on the existing associated guidance.
APS X2 sets out the IFoA’s requirements for work review, including independent peer review. It is a mandatory standard that applies to all actuarial work conducted by IFoA members in all practices and jurisdictions.
The IFoA’s Regulatory Board regularly reviews Actuarial Professional Standards (APSs) and guidance to ensure they remain up to date and reflect the needs of members.
Following a review of APS X2, including a member survey in 2024, the Board agreed that there were no significant drivers for a substantive revision of APS X2. The IFoA is now seeking feedback on minor amendments to APS X2, including updates to reflect the new IFoA Disciplinary Scheme.
The 2024 review highlighted a desire for enhanced guidance and additional case studies, so the IFoA is seeking further feedback on improvements to the supporting guidance and case studies.
The consultation will run for 13 weeks from 16 June 2025.
