Thu 20 Nov 2025 - The IFoA Greater China Team is holding an evening Professional Skills Training (PST) event in Shanghai, which will also be live streamed.
We are honoured to have senior IFoA Fellows Ms Shuyan Dai (Marketing Director, China Pacific Property Insurance Co., Ltd) and Mr Haoyu Liu (CRO and Chief Compliance Officer, Cathay Insurance) to deliver speeches and engage in interactive discussions with both an in-person and online audience.
Ms Shuyan Dai will speak to the theme ‘Mutual success: integrating actuarial experience into business to create proactive risk management productivity’. She will discuss how actuaries can take a forward-looking role and better assist companies in risk management throughout the entire business operation chain to achieve professional value of prevention before problems arise.
On the other hand, while supporting the stable operation of insurance companies and realising value, actuaries also need to effectively manage risks and reduce the impact of uncertainties on the market environment.
Mr Haoyu Liu will present on ‘Revering risk: responding prudently to uncertainties in operations’. He will talk about how to enhance the risk awareness of actuarial professionals and use scientific methods and rational attitudes to safeguard sustainable business operations.
Ms Shuyan Dai, FIA (Marketing Director, China Pacific Property Insurance Co., Ltd)
Ms Dai Shuyan graduated from the Insurance & Actuarial Science major at Central University of Finance and Economics in 2002. She is one of the earliest FIAs in general insurance field in China mainland. She has held positions at multiple insurers including Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance and Taiping Property Insurance. Currently, she serves as the Market Director of CPIC Property & Casualty Insurance. She has possessed strong professional capabilities and rich practical experience in property insurance actuarial science, planning, and business management. As a senior executive with a high reputation in the property insurance industry, she has been invited as the guest speaker at various conferences to deliver outstanding speeches and has provided professional support for the formulation of various standards in the property insurance industry in China.
Mr Haoyu Liu, FIA (CRO and Chief Compliance Officer, Cathay Insurance)
Mr Haoyu Liu is currently the Chief Risk Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Cathay Insurance. With over 20 years of experience in the domestic insurance industry, he has in-depth experience in risk management, compliance and internal control. He also provides professional support to many industries and academic institutions.
